I am an Watercolor Artist residing in Bradenton Florida, just neighboring Cortez Fishing Village. When I am not painting I am usually at the art gallery or at a beach on Anna Maria Island, Bradenton Beach, Holmes Beach, or Long Boat Key. Most of my inspiration and ideas come from spending time at the beach. I live with my Husband Captain Maynard and our Parrott "Big Red" who are also inspirations to my paintings.
I am a Signature member of the Forida Suncoast Watercolor Society. I have won numerous awards in local and state shows, and my paintings hang in private collections in the U.S. and abroad. My art can be seen at
Artist Guild of Anna Maria Island on Holmes Beach, Fla.
I have had a love for drawing and painting my whole life. Through the years, and in between working full time, raising four children [and a husband], I painted every chance I got and took art classes at Lakewood Community College in Minnesota.
We vacationed every year on Longboat Key, Florida and my dream was to retire here and take classes at the Art Center – which I did in 1993. My dream came true - and I found watercolors.
My favorite subjects are children, the beach, the ocean, and Florida’s tropical flora and fauna, all of which are the perfect subjects for watercolor.
Working in watercolors is an ongoing learning experience, with all the different conditions and techniques one can factor in. I do commissions of children at the beach and portraits.
They can be seen at Artist Guild of Anna Maria Island
5414 Marina Drive, Holmes Beach, Fla.
are the beach, my garden yard, and my husband, Captain Maynard - but not neccessarily in that order.
I am also interested in experimental painting - I think that is what attracts me to watercolors - the techniques and possibilitis are endless.
